Rev. Seongmoon Ahn
Rev. Seongmoon was born in South Korea and was baptized when he was a high school student.
In 1995, he had a transformative spiritual experience in relationship with God and determined to serve the church as a minister. In 1997, he entered the Methodist Theological University in Seoul, South Korea.
After his graduation in 2005, Seongmoon married Eunji Kim and they moved to Boston in 2006. Since then, God has blessed them with three children, Sieun, Soyoon, and Siwoo. Meanwhile, he earned the Master of Divinity (M.Div) degree from Boston University School of Theology in 2010 and Sacred Theology of Master (STM) degree at the same school in 2012.
Seongmoon had served as a student pastor at the Zion Korean United Methodist Church, Warwick, RI from 2006 to 2012 and as the pastor of the Chilmark Community Church on Martha’s Vineyard from 2012 to 2015. Since 2015 he has been serving the East Bridgewater United Methodist Church in East Bridgewater and Bryantville United Methodist Church in Pembroke, MA.
In 2018, Seongmoon was ordained at New England Annual Conference. In July, 2020, he was appointed to Belfast United Methodist Church in order to continue to share God’s love, peace, and grace not only with the church but also with neighbors.
